What to expect
In this small, private weekend workshop (7 couples max), you will experience how to identify and change the negative cycles that get in the way of intimacy and romance, make sense of your own and your partner’s emotions, discover better ways of handling stress and conflict, and restore trust and safety in your relationship. Once you feel securely connected, resolving other issues in your relationship becomes much easier.
Through videos of real couples, private couple exercises, and optional group participation, you’ll gain
Encouragement from seeing others work through troubles similar to yours,
A better understanding of your relationship by seeing the same patterns in other couples, and
Group energy supporting you in difficult areas, and cheering your successes.
This internationally recognized workshop is based on the best-selling book by Dr. Sue Johnson, Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love. To ensure that each couple receives personal attention and guidance, the workshop is limited to seven couples.
This is not couples therapy, nor is it just listening to a lecture. It is a relaxed, non-threatening opportunity for you to experience a new way of understanding your relationship and connecting with each other. You and your partner will have opportunities throughout the workshop to try out what you learn in private conversations with each other, with help from the workshop leaders if desired. Group participation is not required.
Workshop Leaders: Betsy Walli is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 85860) with a private practice in Hermosa Beach and Seal Beach. Bahar Delaram is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern (MFTI 79449) under the supervision of Tinaz Vevaina, MA, LMFT 36313, with a private practice in Newport Beach. Both Betsy and Bahar specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples.
